The
Pentyr Singers evolved some twenty-five years ago from the well known
choir 'The Saint Cecilia Singers'. We meet on Wednesday evenings at
Trewennack
Sunday School Hall at 7.30 pm. The present musical director, Sarah Curnow,
has been with the choir for over twenty-five years, she is a teacher
at a local primary school. |
The
accompanist is Paul Benney who has been with us for eighteen years. We
are very fortunate to have this team who are a great asset to the choir.
There are currently more than forty singers who come from all over the
Lizard Peninsula and surrounding area.
|
The
repertoire of the choir covers a wide variety of music, ranging from 16th
century madrigals, music from various shows through to 20th century rock
and roll. Special pieces are performed at Christmas. The choir sings to
help raise funds for various projects on The Lizard Peninsula. We prefer
to have concerts on Wednesday or Sunday evenings. |
